The global Basque community would like to extend our condolences to Igor Aristegi's family and friends.

The young Basque man from Beasain, who had a bright and promising future in the field of scientific studies of philosophy, died while on vacation in North America in July. Cause of death has not been confirmed.


The global Basque community is sorry to hear the sad news of Igor Aristegi’s death. The 28 year old from Beasain, Gipuzkoa, was on vacation in the United States and Mexico and was found dead in a hotel room in Rosarito, a town on the coast near the US/Mexico border. He had a degree in philosophy from the University of the Basque Country and had just begun his doctoral work at the University of Cambridge in England. He was interested in learning more about university philosophy classes in the San Diego, California and Tijuana, Mexico.
