Besides the plenary sessions, workshops and other events, Circom also offered more relaxed moments. In a context ruled by formality, there were also some more informal moments worth to be highlighted, as they gave a special and original touch to the event.

Special gifts were offered to the participants who were registered: entrances for the Fine Arts Museum of Bilbao and the Guggenheim Museum, and several gifts of practical use, all courtesy gifts offered by EiTB, RTVE and the Bilbao Tourist Office.

A special tool at disposal of the Circom participants is worth to be mentioned as well: the Teleteca, a tool that makes it possible to share and exchange information and opinions between all participants. It’s a network of computers connected to a 500-gigabyte hard disk on which have been stored several programs and productions made last year by the media groups who participate in the event. Whoever wants to discover the audiovisual panorama in Europe or the new tendencies, can connect easily to one of the four terminals installed in the Algorta Room of the Carlton Hotel.

The visit to the City Council has not only been a great success, it also offered us one of the most curious and emotional moments of the event: the birthday of Anita Bhalla, president of Circom Regional. All participants surprised her with a birthday cake in the hall of the City Council, where took place the welcome reception by the Mayor. After the big surprise a lunch was offered to all participants and everyone received a bottle of txakoli (Basque white wine) from Bizkaia.

Nevertheless, the most curious thing was certainly the campaign of the Cypriot delegation in favor of their Eurovision candidate: they distributed pins to call people to vote for Cyprus.
